I was commissioned by the University of California in Berkeley to collaborate with the Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive on this Afrofuturist mural. I’m so honoured to have had the opportunity to create a portrait series of South Africans that I perceive to embody a contemporary South African aesthetic. Looking at where our country has been and where it is headed, as well as how a hybridization of tradition and future thought will inform our growth. Celebrating this on the walls of the Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive was truly a memorable experience! The mural sits at 70ftX25ft - 21mX7m.
